If One Can Hate Rāmakṛṣṇa, Vivekānanda, They Will Achieve Salvation.

Śrīla Śrīdhara Mahārāja: “I’m quite satisfied with Rāmakṛṣṇa. You do not know him properly. So you’re boldly giving assertion like that. What do you know about Rāmakṛṣṇa?” She will tell against you. “Who’s Rāmakṛṣṇa, do you know? He’s both Rāma and both Kṛṣṇa. Rāma and Kṛṣṇa both combined, he’s Rāmakṛṣṇa. What do you know?” They’ll say to you.

Gaura Hari. Gaura Hari. Gaura Hari. Gaura Hari. Gaura Hari.

Acyutānanda told, in his experience, “That wherever I’ve gone I found that the general educated public is in the hands of the Rāmakṛṣṇa Mission. We had to fight with them. Our worst enemy is Rāmakṛṣṇa Mission, they’re capturing the field, and we’re to fight with them if we at all want to do some good to the public. Mostly the educated section under the influence of the Rāmakṛṣṇa Mission.

“Whatever you do, it is all right. Any conception of religion is all right.”

I told, “If we hate Rāmakṛṣṇa, if I preach an opinion if one can hate Rāmakṛṣṇa, Vivekānanda, they will achieve salvation. Will you accept that? Any opinion you’re to accommodate any opinion. And this is my opinion, you record! Your first and worst conception, conviction; that Rāmakṛṣṇa should be accepted as the highest authority.… Read More...

63 New Srila Sridhar Maharaja Transcripts Added!

We have added 63 new transcripts to the Srila Sridhar Maharaja Media Archive!

The new transcripts have been added to the 11/1/83-12/31/83 section.

Many thanks to Prabhu Paramananda for all his hard work on these transcripts.

We pray for the blessings of the vaishnavas to help us, as we find ourselves unable to keep up with the prolific output of Sriman Paramananda dasa, whose steadfastness in transcribing the recordings of Srila Sridhara Maharaja has yielded a tremendous body of work available to all those anxious to serve, absorb, utilize, taste and distribute the exquisite siddhanta of His Divine Grace, Srila Bhakti Rakshaka Sridhara-Deva-Goswami Maharaja.

Gaura Haribol!

The Process for Carrying Out Srila Prabhupada’s Desires for Future Initiations.

Note

The paper presented below was prepared by ISKCON’s GBC after Srila Prabhupada’s disappearance and sent to all ISKCON temple presidents in 1978. I read the paper carefully at that time and was astonished to see that my Godbrothers apparently had so much knowledge of the matters presented therein. I remained puzzled, however, at how they had gained such insight and by the phrase “in consultation with higher authorities.” Who were these “higher authorities”? Years later I leaned “they” were Srila Sridhara Maharaja; the one from whom the GBC, at Srila Prabhupada’s direction, sought advice on the most crucial matters that would affect his disciples after his disappearance.

[Addressing Srila Sridhara Maharaja]

Jayapataka Mj: After the departure of our beloved spiritual master we came to offer our respects to you as well as to hear your very esteemed upadesa on certain matters if you would be kind enough.
. . .
Jayapataka Maharaja: He has given explicit desires, but he told us that, on other technical points and other matters of philosophy, it there was question we should approach you.

On the observance of the disappearance of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Rakshaka Sridhara Deva-Goswami Maharaja, July 23, 2017.

Introduction:

The disappearance of Sri Guru reveals a great many things to those whose diligence applied to studying the event is sufficient to catch them. The day of his disappearance is a time to memorialize the greatness of Sri Gurudeva. The days following his disappearance are a time for those who proclaim his greatness to walk through the purificatory fire sparked by the event. Some will be burned by the fire while surviving it, others will be consumed by it, a few will emerge in a brilliant pure golden form as an example for all to follow.

So there may be disturbances, rather, we may say it should be, disturbance must come, because my most beloved Guru has withdrawn from amongst us. And should we like to live peacefully? Such a great curse, as it may be felt, is thrown on my head. And should I like to live peacefully? In its retinue disturbance must come, and we are to undergo them, but we must remain sincere and we must face the difficulty in a proper way. That has come to train me to go on in the right direction. What I have received from him I understood in a rough estimation.

Srila Sridhar Maharaja “The Near Death Experience”

srila_bhakti_raksak_sridhar_maharaja

The following is an excerpt from the transcript “83.04.28-29 – Guru 44 bkg ed”, which is available on our website “http://www.srilasridharamaharaja.com”.

We hope the excerpt below will serve as an appetizer to beckon you to partake in the full feast available via our Srila Sridhara Maharaja media files. — bkg

Guru Maharaja: Chitragupta, he’s the record keeper of Yamaraja. What do you now want to say?

Devotee: Does he have some special connection with Paramatma? His recording system is so intricate he must have some connection with Paramatma.

Guru Maharaja: Some sort, because he must have eligibility of recording of reading all the movements in this mundane world. By the vibration, whatever is happening he can record it, his heart automatically, that real vibration he touches or it beats in his heart, ‘that this is happening there.’ According to that vibration, Paramatma can control, can have independence. But this man is keeping with that, like a computer he can record all vibrations of different type that are taking place in this mundane plane, in this mortal world. And he’s not a record keeper of Svarga; Svarga-loka, Maha, Jana, Tapa, not: but only this human [plane] where the free action has got to be recorded for his future punishment or reward, something.… Read More...

“Towards Radhesha-Dhani… to Serve, Where Radharani is Serving Her Own Lord”

srila_bhakti_raksak_sridhar_maharaja

Introduction

Our lineage is one of form breakers. Srimati Radharani is the Chieftess of that line. Sriman Mahaprabhu established Her as such, prepared the ground for Bhagavata-vidhi and revealed the supremacy of Radha-dasyam above all other transcendental relationships.

Srila Saraswati Thakura appeared as the modern-day reformer of Gaudiya Theism. He broke the form created by the imitationists by giving emphasis to preaching the precepts of Sri Rupa through a spiritually vital institution of his own creation. He then used it to collapse the false ego of the caste goswamis and brahmans by proving the superiority of bhagavata-vidhi over pancharatrika-vidhi on the basis of Sri Rupa’s siddhanta. With similar prowess he tore asunder the philosophies of the mayavadis and the voidists. He broke into pieces all forms of religion, and even all transcendental conceptions, that did not admit the super position of Sri Radha’s service to Krishna, and placed them into the dustbin of history.

Srila Sridhara Maharaja, proud to be known as a “form breaker”, due to continuing the work of his Divine Master, reminds us that we also came out for that. He instructs us to faithfully continue on that course, which will “take us towards radhesha-dhani. By that, to worship, to serve, where Radharani is serving Her own Lord.”… Read More...

Srila Sridhar Maharaja & Srila Swami Maharaja Conversation 06/27/1973 at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Navadwip Dhama

We offer this for the pleasure of the devotees, with full gratitude to the Bengali translators for the portions in bold type completed during February 2013. Bracketed “[ ]” text and some edits by Swami B.K. Giri.

Please Note: All transcriptions such as this are more or less works in progress presented with the expectation of future corrections and simultaneously with the intent to satisfy the hearts of the devotees eager to have these great talks available in text form for study and research.

Much work has been done by many devotees to produce these transcripts. We do not know the names of every transcriber, nor, in many cases, can we properly attribute their work to a specific transcript.

During the past few years Sriman Paramananda dasa Adhikari (UK) has been continuously engaged in transcribing and carefully organizing the transcripts to match the recordings we have made available via our website scsmathglobal.com

Srimati Kundalata Devi, also of UK, has also helped a great deal with this organizational work and in many other ways, including proofreading.

Both of those named above, along with Sriman Vamsi Vadana dasa (UK) were instrumental in another important way, they made it known to me how much they appreciate our humble attempts to make these treasures available to the devotees.… Read More...

Srila Sridhar Maharaja “Conversation With The GBC March 1978”

Gurumaharaja-07This transcript was made from the following two recordings:

78.03.__.A [GBC]

78.03.__.B [GBC]

Jayapataka Mj: After the departure of our beloved spiritual master we came to offer our respects to you as well as to hear your very esteemed upadesa on certain matters if you would be kind enough.

Srila Sridhara Maharaja: The gurudeva is mentioned in the sastra with an example. The sisya is like a lotus, and the gurudeva like the water around, just as in a pond or in a lake, gurudevas position is like water and Krsna is like the sun. As long as the lotus is floating on the water, the sun will give life to the lotus but if the water vanishes that very sun will burn the lotus. Do you follow? This sort of example is given in the sastra. I cannot exactly remember the sanskrit verse, but such example is there, the water along with the lotus, for without water the sun, Krsna, will burn. Without the help of guru the disciple is nowhere. Raghunatha Das Goswami prabhu, the prayojana acarya of the whole Gaudiya philosophy, spiritual system-he has also remarked that yat bunjayate kunjam hrdayate . . .that a python is coming.… Read More...

Srila BR Sridhar Maharaja “Origin of the Jiva Soul”

brsm01large

Note: an audio version of this discussion is available by clicking HERE

How does the soul first appear in this world? From what stage of spiritual existence does he fall into the material world?” This is a broad question, which requires some background information.

There are two classes of souls, jivas, who come into this world. One class comes from the spiritual Vaikuntha planets by the necessity of nitya-lila, the eternal pastimes of Krsna. Another comes by constitutional necessity.

The brahmajyoti, the non-differentiated marginal plane, is the source of infinite jiva souls, atomic spiritual particles of non-differentiated character. The rays of the Lord’s transcendental body are known as the brahmajyoti, and a pencil of a ray of the brahmajyoti is the jiva. The jiva soul is an atom in that effulgence, and the brahmajyoti is a product of an infinite number of jiva atoms.

Generally, souls emanate from the brahmajyoti which is living and growing. Within the brahmajyoti, their equilibrium is somehow disturbed and movement begins. From non-differentiation, differentiation begins. From a plain sheet of uniform consciousness, individual conscious units grow. And because the jiva is conscious it is endowed with free will. So, from the marginal position they choose either the side of exploitation or the side of dedication.
