I have sometimes made the point that disciples should not be overly interested in their param guru(s), a disciple’s connection is with his immediate guru.
While doing some reading this morning I found confirmation of that point:

        A disciple’s connection is with his immediate guru, not a param guru.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: I remember one time Kārttikeya Mahārāja was chanting to a picture of Bhaktisiddhānta. You chastised him and said, “What is your connection with Bhaktisiddhānta? Your connection is with me.”

Prabhupāda: Who said?

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: You did.

Sudāmā: You did. I remember.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: When Kārttikeya Mahārāja was chanting to your guru mahārāja’s picture, you said, “How you can connect with him? Your connection is with me.” (end)

On the 24th August 2016 at 07.35am in Navadwip Dharma, West Bengal, India, Sripada Bhakti Prasun Aranya Maharaja passed away from this world, causing deep feelings of separation and sadness for those who knew and loved him for his simplicity, humility, faithfulness and unalloyed pure hearted devotion to his beloved Gurudeva, Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaja.

Sripada Bhakti Prasun Aranya Maharaja was one of Srila Sridhara Maharaja’s earliest disciples, perhaps the very first, and one who Srila Govinda Maharaja noted was always faithful to him (Srila Govinda Maharaja).

duḥkha-madhye kona duḥkha haya gurutara?
kṛṣṇa-bhakta-viraha vinā duḥkha nāhi dekhi para

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu asked, “Of all kinds of distress, what is the most painful?”
Śrī Rāmānanda Rāya replied, “Apart from separation from the devotee of Kṛṣṇa, I know of no unbearable unhappiness.” (CC-2:8:248).

Complete fast all day until midnight (then no grains).

You are also invited to attend Sri Nandotsava and Thakura Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada appearance day celebrations the following morning on Friday 26th August.
